A reader of the Old Testament can get a view of God as violent, angry, condemning, and vengeful. But a careful reading of the whole Bible shows that God is pure love, and incapable of these other emotions.
“And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke'” (Exodus 34:1)
