The human race had almost lost all connection with God and heaven.
Jesus came to establish a new connection between humanity and the Divine.
"Divine truth from Jehovah (the Lord) flowed through heaven into the human race, but this was inadequate once people abandoned what was good. So the Lord came into the world and made the human nature in himself divine. His purpose was for divine truth to radiate from his own, divine humanity and in this way save humankind, which would receive goodness by means of truth."
